It's still raining!

The title says it all! So, how about some pictures from last summer?

Or last fall?

Or while playing Hide and Go Seek? (As in where's your brother? Has anyone seen Super J? Super J where are you??)

I hope the sun returns soon!

The end of January brought Super S' last derby race. His car is the one in the back. It's super thin, has two small fins and one gold fin on the back and a gold cockpit. This baby was built for good looks and not necessarily built for speed. Even so, it came in second in most of the races.

We are so lucky that we have three more years of derby racing!! Just as Super S graduates from cub scouts, Super A will be slipping in right behind. I LOVE DERBY NIGHT!!!!

Anniversary/Birthday/Christmas present

Here's what I got for all my December celebrations. The dinette set we had was a hand-me-down of a hand-me-down given to us about 8 years ago. We loved it. In the last few months though, two of the chairs broke and one more was headed that way any day. Leaving us with only three chairs left. Well, three chairs doesn't really work with 6 people in the family. We did have a bench, but with the holidays coming and family coming for the holidays we needed a couple more chairs. If any of you have priced out chairs lately they are really expensive! Even the cheap ones are expensive! So I watched Craigslist really carefully and found this for just under $500 It came with the table, six chairs, a china cabinet and a buffet that folds out on top to put hot stuff. I love it!! The only big problem is the wood is so soft it is easy for the kids to be working on their school work and put indentations of what they were working on right into the wood! I have a couple of math problems and a picture indented into my new (new to me) table!! So what I've been doing, when I remember is putting my quilting mat on the table as a buffer for the kids to write or draw on. We were surprised at how soft the wood was because DH and I moved the table ourselves and it is HEAVY!!!! Any suggestions on fixing the table or fixing the problem?
Isn't it pretty? *sigh*
